Mums who want to start their own business, now have a how to guide
A new resource is available to Mums who want to start their own business but are unsure if or how to start and if the time is right, while raising a young family.
Melanie Toye’s online course, “Use your maternity leave to start your own business,” is a do it yourself start-up course that gives Mums the confidence to start their own biz and a go-to guide on how to begin.
“Women want it all, time at home with their children, supporting their family by earning an income and working in a business they love, which is their own,” said Melanie Toye, mother of two, author of 11 books and her own boss in building her writing career.
Women have three options when their maternity leave comes to an end:
1. Return to their old job and negotiate a flexible working arrangement, such as part-time.
2. Find a new job that is flexible and possibly closer to home.
3. Extend their maternity leave and earn their own income.
Maternity leave gives women a time to really think about their life and career and wanting a change in career and the ability to work from home to be with their children is a huge tick on many Mum’s wish lists.
The important lesson for all women and Mums in particular to know is, they can chase their dreams and bring up their children too. Now is the time to do it.
